Pour la 5ième année consécutive, se tiendra lors du 63° festival de Cannes la soirée de remise des Off de Cannes organisée par le producteur Alain Zirah et l'association des Cinq regards. L'année dernière, cette soirée avait eu lieu sur le ponton de l'hôtel Majestic sous l'égide de l'écrivain Paolo Coelho, l'année précédente à l'hôtel 3.14 sous la présidence du réalisateur Jan Kounen. C'est ainsi que je l'ai découverte pour y avoir reçu la palme Off du meilleur blog 2008 pour mes 2 blogs www.cinemaniac.fr et www.cinemaniacannes.fr. L'année précédente, à l'hôtel Martinez, sous le parrainnage d'Emir Kusturica, c'est le Blog Reporter, spécial Cannes, spécialisé dans la couverture people, qui avait été lauréat de la palme Off du meilleur blog du festival de Cannes 2007. En revanche, il semble qu'en 2009, la catégorie blog n'ait pas eu de lauréat... (je l'ignore, n'ayant pas pu aller à la soirée 2009 qui avait eu lieu en même temps qu'une projection, les films d'abord...)
Les Off de Cannes ont pour vocation de mettre en lumière des talents émergents qui sont présents pendant le festival de Cannes. Cet événement ancré au coeur du plus grand festival de cinéma du monde permet de récompenser les participants les plus créatifs , chacun dans leur catégorie, d'un concours lui-même créatif organisé autour du thème réccurent des "Kat Ladies". Le lieu de l’événement, toujours prestigieux et changeant chaque année, sera révélé lors de la conférence de presse du lundi 3 mai 2010. La soirée 2010 devrait avoir lieu le 19 ou le 20 mai 2010.
